Health Mems project studies new health monitoring concepts enabled by MEMS based sensors.
HealthMems is a Tekes funded 3-year project that started 1.8.2015
Harnessing MEMS-based monitoring devices together with selected strategies for wireless monitoring and integration of the components on flexible substrate will allow for unobtrusive and cost-effective measurement of health-components. It has not been possible to measure this earlier at a reasonable cost and without involving professional (costly) healthcare resources.
We will propose the use MEMS in novel application areas like core temperature measurement, bone and muscle analysis as well as diagnostics for infection.
In this joint project with VTT and Aalto University, Metropolia leads end user research and design work in order to ensure the match between user needs and the research performed by VTT and Aalto.
