VitalSens project develops a novel biomedical remote monitoring platform that is able to adapt to different usage scenarios and therefore enables long-term, continuous use in each step of the nursing chain.
The project is carried out as an international collaboration between research groups from Finland and India. Finnish research consortium is formed Tampere University of Technology, Oulu University and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC) is the Indian research organisation. Clinical validation of the developed technology is an important part of the project. There are four hospitals as clinical collaborators in India and Oulu University Central Hospital in Finland. The principal investigator of the project is Adj. Prof. Matti Mäntysalo, Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering.
